PCB Layout / R&D Product Design

We are searching for an Engineer or Technician to help develop state of the art vehicle communication and information products.

You will spend approximately 70% of your time doing complex board layout and 30% working on other projects.

45-65K (potentially higher for exceptional fit candidate)

  • Proficient with Altium development tools for both schematic capture and PC board layout...
  • ...experience with a comparable design tool and a willingness to learn and work with Altium
  • Must have experience with multi-layer boards (four or more layers) including layout complexities such as RF, low EMI layout practices, switching power supplies, and such
  • Experience with ground planes or controlled impedance traces
  • Ability to understand schematic and device data sheets
  • Must have experience with serial communications
  • Experience with automotive design requirements
  • Best in class knowledge of hardware design and components including MPUs, UART, CAN, LIN, A/D and D/A converters, RAM/Flash memories, and other digital electronics
  • Good working knowledge of industry standard development processes including IPC-A-600

  • Ability to design and create circuits of power supplies, voltage protection and protocol interfaces
  • Understanding of test methodologies, and testing circuit designs and software releases
  • Embedded circuit design skills (ARM based)
  • Embedded firmware skills
  • Experience with Protel

  • Maintain parts library, qualifying and adding substitute parts as needed
  • Maintain PCB layout tools
  • Create layouts on multiple layered PC boards
  • Create controlled impedance traces on outer and inner layers
  • Manage change requests coming from multiple engineers
  • Work on multiple designs in one day
  • Create library parts from part data sheet
  • Estimate project schedule and required resources
